Janae Duclos-Francois, Ph.D.
Special Education Specialist
Janae provides professional development training for Connected Class, specifically through the Instructional Leadership Institute and ESE training. She is a content expert, Assistant in Research, and Professor of Education at Florida State University in the Florida Center for Reading Research. Under the direction of Dr. Lakeisha Johnson, Dr. Duclos works specifically with projects related to the Florida Department of Education and The Village. The Village uses a place-based, collective impact approach to create, support, and sustain research-practice partnerships to support reading achievement, school readiness, and school success among vulnerable children and youth. With over 17 years of professional experience in special education, Dr. Duclos has served students with disabilities and their families at the local school, state, and university levels. Her research interest and previous works focus on transition for students with disabilities, differentiating instruction, collaborative approaches for effective inclusion, access to the general education curriculum, and educational leadership.
