(We provide a reading log, but if you have one already you can use that one.) See below for more details.

**Virtual Professional Development**
This professional learning experience is for principals, assistant principals, headmasters, participants of our Head of School program, or teachers in leadership roles.
SPEAKER BIO:
Jethro Jones, is a national award-winning former school leader, podcaster, and author of the books How to be a Transformative Principal and School X: How principals can design a transformative school experience for the people right in front of them! He is also founder of the BE Podcast Network, the best educational podcast network out there. Jethro, a Positive Intelligence Coach, currently consults school leaders on strategies to help them save time, lead more effectively, and overcome their own weaknesses. Jethro has worked as a principal at all K-12 levels, including a prison school, a district coach, distance learning team lead, and English teacher.
Training Description:
When you’re not mentally fit, you feel mental stress (anxiety, frustration, or unhappiness) as you handle work and relationship challenges. The bad news is that 80% of people score below the minimum level of mental fitness required for peak performance and happiness.
Great News! With recent breakthroughs in neuroscience and technology, you can now improve your mental fitness significantly within 6 weeks of practice. During this session, you’ll get a sneak peek at what’s standing in your own way of peak performance and happiness and how to begin to move forward.
This session is based on the Positive Intelligence work of Shirzad Chamine, a New York Times Bestselling author, Stanford lecturer, and coach to hundreds of CEOs and executive teams.
After learning about the three core mental muscles, your team will break out into discussion groups based on top Saboteurs (from the online Saboteur Assessment). Each Saboteur group then reports out to the larger group about what their Saboteur is all about, its lies, limiting beliefs, and negative impact.
This interactive session is how you can shift from a conceptual understanding of the topic to a deep personal “aha…” of exactly how you have been sabotaging your own effectiveness, wellness, and relationships. This is where your team will get really excited about a new possibility for themselves and each other.
- YOUR ACTION ITEM prior to the session: Take the free 5-minute Saboteur Assessment
(Your results are private unless you choose to share).
Previous participants have enjoyed discovering which Saboteurs present the greatest internal obstacles to their optimal achievement and well-being. And they are thrilled to learn simple science-based tools to remove these obstacles.
Learning Intentions:
- The 10 most common ways we self-sabotage and which way is yours
- The neuroscience of happiness & peak performance and 10-second techniques to activate your “right” mind
- How you generate your own stress, and how you can generate peace of mind instead (even in the midst of great challenges)
- The “Three Gifts Technique” and how to use it to convert failures and setbacks into gifts and opportunities
- The mental muscle that gives top performers their edge, and how you can grow it with a few minutes of daily practice
Who should attend?
- Administrators
- Headmasters
- Principals
- Assistant Principals
- Teacher leaders
Participants can receive in-service points for attending.
If you have questions please contact Connected Class at support@connectedclass.com.

Join us on a virtual road trip to gain a greater understanding of your current student performance and the overall achievement of your campus over time on the PSAT. Like last year’s Instructional Leadership Institute, we are hosting a February Institute for PSAT only. During the two professional development days, we will R.I.D.E.:
Reflect on data
Inspect the need
Develop the goal
Envision your plan
** You will also want to register for Part 2 on February 17, 2024. You can register here.**
We encourage schools to bring a team. Talk with your administrators to see who else is interested in attending. You will have one day to analyze both math and ELA data.
