Inspiration Behind this Reading Challenge: Connected Class initiated a reading series called “Stop Whining and Just Read with Me Already” focused on ways to make nightly reading fun for both the parent and the child. These creative reading activities stemmed from our founder and CEO’s own journey with her child and those infamous reading logs every parent dreads. Her child’s second grade teacher, Sheri Lamb, desired to instill a love of reading in her students and encouraged them to read at least 20 minutes a day. Sheri was the inspiration behind these videos and assisted in their development. Ms. Lamb was one of those unforgettable teachers who not only inspired her students to read, but her genuine love and encouragement impacted the lives of those students and their families. In 2021, Sheri lost her battle with cancer, but her story is still impacting lives.
