Please contact us at support@connectedclass.com. \n\n**This event is only for Palm Beach County Diocesan Educators from the following schools:  All Saints Catholic School\, Cardinal Newman High School\, Rosarian Academy\, Sacred Heart School\, St. Ann Catholic School\, St. Clare Catholic School\, St. Joan of Arc Catholic School\, St. John Paul II Academy\, St. Jude Catholic School\, St. Juliana Catholic School\, and St. Vincent Ferrer School.** \nTraining Description:  \nDo you have students who have experienced trauma? They may have a difficult home situation\, or they may have been in and out of foster care\, or they may even be struggling with mental health issues.  Any of these situations can make focusing on learning difficult for the student; however\, as educators\, we desire to find a way to connect and help every student be successful. This session will provide you with tools to better understand trauma and the behaviors that can result from it as well as how to work with parents to create a healing environment for the student to succeed. \nLearning Intentions:  \n\nUnderstand the “trauma brain” and how past trauma creates behavior issues in the classroom.\nUnderstand that behaviors are symptoms\, symptoms of a greater need.\nBecome a healing adult in the life of a traumatized child.\nUnderstand the “why” in order to create a healing environment.\nIdentify triggers to reduce episodes of trauma behaviors.\nLearn how to work with parents to create a healing team attitude.\n\nBenefits:  \n\nEligible teachers may receive $25.00 an hour for attendance plus in-service points.\nAdditional certification points\, including ESE points\, can be earned through a follow-up assignment.\nOngoing support for implementation through connectedclass.com is available for site-licensed schools.\n\nWho should attend?  \n\nAny teacher who wants to decrease toxic stress in the classroom\nAny educator desiring to create strong parent-teacher relationships to assist in the healing process and allow more learning\nAny school social workers\, clinicians\, nurses\, or support staff who work with students who have experienced trauma\nAny educator who helps with accommodations and strategies for 504’s or IEP’s\nAny administrator wishing to provide ongoing resources to support teachers in classrooms with a disruptive child
