Creating awareness and protecting
families from online dangers
Technology is an integral part of our life and culture. Today, children are often more tech-savy than their parents or teachers. While technology can create great efficiencies in our work day and provide fun entertainment opportunities, there are also threats that exist online that parents and families should be aware of. For this reason, Connected Class and Officer Erenstoft (aka “Officer E”) have teamed up to provide a series of short, shareable videos about specific online dangers parents will want to become educated about so that they can adequately navigate these important and necessary conversations with their child.
The Take Three for Digital Safety series is available for schools to purchase for their families. Administrators have the opportunity to select from specific topics they would like to provide more information for their students’ families. Some of the topics included are:

Schools also may schedule Officer E to present at their next family engagement night. He has been presenting to parents and students for over 24 years and is currently a police lieutenant in Florida. As a law enforcement officer he has served as a school resource officer, field training officer, and a leader in the youth Police Athletic League. Prior to his law enforcement career, Officer E worked as a youth director for 12 years. He uses his training and experience as a police officer, husband, and father of two boys to relate to the challenges parents face each day on issues such as bullying, drugs and alcohol, and technology and social media.
