Description:

Are you looking for ways to get the reluctant student to participate joyfully in class?  Are you hoping a strategy exists to move your reluctant reader from apathy to enthusiasm?  We will explore what motivates students today and how to help students develop the tools needed to be an active learner in the classroom.  We will also look at the approach we take in the classroom when cultivating ambition and drive within our students.

Learning Intentions

  • Explore ways to shift gears when engagement and motivation is stalled.
  • Build a strategically viable mindset within the class structure and individuals.
  • Identify contributing factors to specific students stalled along the road of learning.
  • Look at practices that can help students go the distance and meet the learning goals.
  • Create a plan to develop ambition and drive within the class setting.

Benefits:

  • Eligible teachers may receive $25.00 an hour for attendance plus in-service points.
  • Additional certification points, including ESE points, can be earned through a follow-up assignment.
  • Ongoing support for implementation through ConnectedClass.com is available for site-licensed schools.

Who should attend?
